GERMANY / Lower Saxony / Hajen / The Hueossen Memorial on the bank of the Weser River and bikers on the Weser Cycle Route.
The over 500 km long-distance cycling trail starts in Hannoversch Muenden leads through the federal states Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony as well as Bremen and ends in Cuxhaven at the North Sea.
The group of figures was created by sculptor Jan D. Ehlers. It shows people who were scornfully called Hueossen and hauled boats or barges upstream in the past.
